The project faced the challenge of combining solar power with sensitive karst land. Engineers draped mountain-print camouflage nets over sections of bare limestone and rocky gullies. Each net covered an entire excavated trench. They also used the nets on bare rock outcrops that had no vegetation.

 

The nets prevented direct sunlight from reaching the rock, thereby reducing thermal stress. Additionally, they held any scattered soil in place. Because they allowed water through, they helped seeds grow on the covered surfaces. Workers anchored each net with pins so that even monsoon rains and winds would not dislodge them. Over the course of a few months, some green sprouts began appearing on the net-covered slopes.

 

A drone survey at the end of the season showed the quarry looking far more green. Areas under solar panels connected smoothly to these restored zones. The camouflage net simultaneously masked the disturbance and initiated the desertification reversal. By the project’s completion, both plant life and clean energy production goals were being met on the reclaimed land.
