Southern Theater Mountain Equipment Concealment

A concealment operation was executed for a new heavy armored vehicle stationed in a mountainous jungle region. The equipment’s size prevented it from moving off-road into dense forest. Therefore it was parked on open ochre-colored soil. Instead of the typical forest-green net, a desert-sand camouflage net was chosen to better match the soil color. The heavy netting was draped in multiple irregular layers over the vehicle, avoiding any flat planes. Each overlay was offset so the camouflage pattern did not align across layers.

Large clumps of local dry grass and fallen leaves were pressed into the nets’ outer surface. This helped to blur the man-made textile texture. The top parts of the net were supported slightly above the vehicle to create a dome effect, while edges hung freely. This combination meant that observers, whether on foot or via UAV, saw a yellow-brown mound with natural debris, not a tank-like outline.

The camouflage net used was thick and UV-resistant. It concealed the matte and curved surfaces of the vehicle. After setup, field observers reported that no distinctive vehicle shapes were visible, only the earth-colored net. Infrared checks confirmed a diffused thermal signature, as the net acted as a buffer layer. By integrating local materials and avoiding straight lines, the project successfully hid the heavy equipment within the mountainous landscape.
