Armored Brigade Live Exercise Camouflage

Más información Project Details

Comprehensive camouflage solution for an armored brigade’s training exercise, using layered nets and natural vegetation to hide tanks and armored vehicles in jungle terrain.

Client: Armored Brigade

Armored vehicles concealed under jungle camouflage nets during a field exercise

A dedicated camouflage initiative was deployed for an armored brigade during a live field exercise. The mission was to hide tanks and infantry fighting vehicles under dense jungle foliage and netting. Multiple camouflage layers were applied over the entire vehicle surface, using dual-layer, offset nets so as to break up the rigid geometric outline. In key spots (metal barrels, optics, and any shiny components), an extra mesh covering was added to eliminate glint and reflective points. Netting edges overlapped and interleaved with local branches, leaves, and grasses to mimic the ambient environment. This ensured any hard edges and factory textures were obscured by natural elements.

The camouflage team retained openings for engine vents and heat sinks to prevent overheating; ventilation gaps allowed air flow so that no hotspots would betray infrared signatures. A heavy-duty, multi-spectral net material was chosen: it resists tears and shields against visible light and infrared imaging. By layering the jungle-pattern netting, the vehicles blended seamlessly into the underbrush. Overhead and ground-based optical reconnaissance (including UAVs and drones) could not easily distinguish the vehicles from the natural terrain. The result was a low-profile, irregular silhouette that satisfied the armored brigade’s stealth requirements.

On the ground, engineers ensured the nets were tied down against wind and properly anchored. The netting was rugged and tear-resistant, suitable for outdoor exposure in field conditions. Tested over days of training, the system successfully minimized thermal and visual signatures. Reconnaissance attempts from above yielded no identifiable vehicle outlines. Local scouts and field observers confirmed that the brigade’s position remained effectively concealed throughout the exercise. This project set a new standard for armored unit camouflage by combining advanced netting with biotope integration.
