ラサ高速道路トンネル建設現場のカモフラージュ
In a highland highway tunnel project, large material yards and stone piles were hidden under desert-pattern nets. A single stretch of netting wrapped around the outer face of a 5,000m² storage bin. The net softened the look of the construction site and reduced dust and sunlight reflection.

During a high-altitude highway construction (Linzhi section), contractors applied camouflage to the worksite. A key part was the large sand and gravel depot spanning roughly 5,000 square meters. Crews fully wrapped the depot’s exterior with a desert-pattern net. They also covered nearby sand heaps and temporary processing sheds with the same netting.
This had an immediate effect: the bright yellow sand and white concrete were no longer visible. Instead, observers saw an evenly colored buff façade, with the net pattern simulating natural rock. In addition to hiding the site visually, the netting served functional purposes. It acted as shade over exposed materials, reducing dust and sun glare for equipment operators.
Anchors at the base of the netting kept it stable against winds. The material was durable, providing ongoing weather protection. After this camouflage was in place, the project site’s appearance became much more discreet from a distance. It demonstrated how straightforward net covers could vastly improve the visual impact of a major engineering project.
