Light infantry units needed to observe the border without being spotted. Each forward observation post was wrapped in a lightweight camouflage net that matched the local vegetation. The net was specially treated to avoid making sound when brushed against; this kept movements quiet. Shelters, camera tripods, and even personnel were tucked away under the net.
For quick setup, nets were attached to collapsible metal frames to form a makeshift hideout. Openings for scopes and aiming devices had narrow slits cut in the net material and were covered with thin flaps. Personal gear and uniforms used non-reflective, matte materials under the net. The outcome was a concealment tent that blended into the environment. Any residual glare from optics was eliminated by the net’s matte finish.
Testing under overhead UAV showed no visible human shapes. The nets also allowed airflow, preventing fogging of optical lenses. Feedback from the teams confirmed that they could monitor the field continuously without exposing their position. This deployment demonstrated an effective stealth system for mobile infantry surveillance.
